♕ Part of My World ♕ Spectrum Collections ~ Siren Brush Set & Roll ♕
{Overview, First Impressions}

Ciao Principesse!

Today I'm going to show you my new brush set by Spectrum Collections: the Siren Brush Set, which I got on November but since it was meant to be a Christmas present I wasn't allowed to use them yet - that's why I hadn't the chance to write this post before. I just took a look, checked if they were all right (no flaws of any kind), deep cleaned them in order to see if they lost bristles... And then bam! my mom wrapped the whole set and I had to wait till Christmas Day to finally unwrap it and start using all the brushes. Quite a long waiting, yes XD But it was definitely worth of it!

In this post I'm going to do an overview and give you my first impressions about each and every brushes of the set. Please note: this is not a review, since I've been using these brushes for just a couple of weeks. I'll post a proper, full and final review on summer, more or less.
This time this post will be not including the comparisons, as I did in the Glam Clam overview. I'll show the comparisons in the full review, this set is not a limited edition (like the Glam Clam was supposed to be) so no need to rush. (I usually add comparisons on reviews only, I made an exception with the Glam Clam overview because it was a L.E. at the beginning). Still, this post will be much more detailed than my usual first impression posts ;D

"Chic merbabes only - Our most luxe set in the collection, the Siren Set is for the chicest of mer-babes and now the full set is available as a 12 piece set with the brush roll"

Here is the roll opened, showing all the brushes inside. This set actually gathers two different mini-sets: the Siren Sculpt and the Siren Smoke, which respectively are a face set (including the five face brushes) and one eyes set (with the other seven brushes left). I got the full Siren Set, which includes the two mini-sets AND the brush roll (nicknamed "cute little sushi roll").

I've been chasing this full set for months, since they showed a little "teaser trailer" of it along with some sneak peeks on their Instagram. It was, again, a looong waiting because they launched the mini-sets first and the full set weeks later. At first I thought about getting them separately (yeah I was pretty eager to get them) but then I decided to be a good mermaid, be patient and waited for the full version with the brush roll to be launched. As soon as it was, I asked for it as my Christmas present XD

Now you might being wondering: "so you just waited in order to get the brushes AND the roll together??". Yeah, I did. In terms of price, buying the two sets separately or the full version is the same... Except for the brush roll. In fact, if you purchase the mini sets you won't get the roll - unless you buy it separately. (I think you might get a matching, soft pochette, not so sure though). Beside this, how could I miss this beautiful roll, made with holographic, scales-like fabric with a sea shell as a closure? No way! XD

Mind you, the Glam Clam is still my favourite brush case ever, but the Cute Sushi Roll is pretty awesome too. Looks like made out of real mermaid scales, and it shines when exposed to sunlight. I did my best to show you his hypnotic shine with the collage above, by taking pictures with different lights - but it's impossible to capture the brightness and all the colours: gold, pink, green, purple hues

It can contain 12 brushes and you can purchase it separately - in case you just want to add a mermaid touch to your collection. Can't be used as a proper clutch, though, which is a little sad because it would be a wonderful little pochette. (I have said this before, but in case you missed it: I use my Glam Clam as a clutch! :p)
It has a magnetic, shell shaped closure which is really handy (sometimes zippers can get stuck! ), strong enough to keep the roll well closed even when it's packed with all the brushes.
The only flaw I noticed is that the face brushes needed a little more space - you can notice that their bristles are squeezed, while the eye brushes have no problem. I think the elastic band should have been sewed in a way to leave some space between each brush, if this makes any sense.

The 12 brushes in all their glory *_* Unlike the Glam Clam ones (which feature mermaid colours like aqua green, lilac and fuchsia, with rose gold ferrules), this brushes feature darker shades. The Glam Clam was meant for little mermaids, but the Siren set is meant for dark mermaids ;D
The handles are painted with a deep, glossy black, while the ferrules are painted with a special holographic paint that makes each brush unique. The bristles feature a lovely teal shade, with black tips. Might sound weird, but I'm actually a fan of black brushes - because you don't have to worry about ruining the color of the bristles! XD
Finally, all the brushes have a gold serigraphy on the handles.

The assortment is pretty good, as I said before you get 5 face brushes plus 7 eye brushes. These are 12 of the best selling brushes - just like the Glam Clam selection, so I knew that some of them were the same and I would end up with some doubles.Yet,that wasn't a problem: I'm currently replacing my old brushes so doubles are very welcome - especially if are brushes I like a lot.

The price can be a flaw too honestly - unlike the Glam Clam, that contains 10 brushes plus a huge and gorgeous shell shape clutch, that costs 59,99 £, this 12 pieces brush set costs 89,99 £. Yeah, a bit scary. I got it as a Christmas AND Birthday present actually (my birthday is next week so sometime I get just a big present to represent both), since it was so pricey. I think this set is worth the purchase, but I honestly think the price is a bit too high - again, compared to the Glam Clam that has just two brush less and a clutch you can use as a proper pochette.

~ I Pennelli / The Brushes ~

Large Powder ~

Large (Domed) Powder"Our largest powder brush, the super soft bristles are ideal for applying a fine layer of translucent powder, or a dusting of all over bronzer. A great all round brush to leave in your handbag for touch ups, as it doesn't pick up too much product. Perfect for those on the go."

I've already have one of this from the Glam Clam (same brush, different colour design) and I LOVE it. It's a large brush but not huge, perfect for applying finishing powders - it picks up the perfect amount of products. I'm going to use this one not for finishing powder but as an all-over brush, as a big, face blending brush.

Buffing Foundation ~
Buffing Foundation: "Use to blend cream and liquid products onto the skin. The super soft bristles mean that foundation can be buffed lightly into the skin for a beautifully even finish that can be left lighter, or built up to a more full coverage look. This product is also perfect to contour the face by blending different coloured foundations into the skin seamlessly".

Another double I'm happy to have in this set. I loved the brother from the Glam Clam, good for both powder and liquid foundations, and it's nice to have a back up - so I can use this when the other one is dirty/wet and viceversa.

Flat contour ~
Flat (Top) Contour: "A new take on our best selling Flat Top Buffer, this beauty will help to really buff and blend your contouring with precision, specifically underneath cheekbones and the jaw. Your #selfies will look all the better for it".

Finally an original and totally new brush in my kit! I don't have any brush like this one, which is made specifically for contouring purposes. Its bristles are short and firm, yet very soft like all the other brushes. Since I'm not good at contouring, I need some tons of practice to figure out how to properly use it XD

Precision Blush ~
Precision Blush"Create beautifully shaded and highlighted cheekbones with our small angled blush. This tool is perfect for applying a small amount of product and building to get a precise and blended finish. An essential piece of kit, this brush will change the way you apply colour to your cheeks for the better."

Another welcome spare brush! I loved the one in the Glam Clam because is beginner-proof, perfect to apply easily any blushes and get a very precise application - as I wrote into the full review

Angled Powder ~
Angled Powder"Create a striking contoured look with the Angled Powder. This brush is designed to apply product where it is needed to give the appearance of more defined bone structure. It is a great brush to add definition underneath the jawbone, and using broad sweeps add depth to cheekbones".

This brush it's like the big brother of the one above. Still angled but bigger, fluffier, fuller. This one is meant for contouring too, as you can read in its description. So, I need to practice with it too XD But I think it could be useful to apply lightly face powders like brozers and/or really pigmented blushes!

Precision Buffer ~
Precision Buffer"The best way to create a flawless coverage over dark circles and blemishes is with our buffing concealer. The super soft bristles and flat top shape mean it's the best brush to apply and blend cream concealer into the skin. For best results firstly use oval concealer to brush on product, then buff until you achieve a flawless finish."

Facile facile *^*

Hail to this brush *_* It was the biggest surprise from the other set, sooo happy to have found it in this set too. It's like the best concealer brush I ever tried, makes concealer application so damn easy and effortless! Just dab it gently and it'll spread the product evenly, concealing the flaw quickly. Easy peasy **

Large Fluffy Shader ~
Large Fluffy Shader"Our large fluffy shader is the perfect starting point for beautiful eye make-up. Use to apply your base colour before building shade and contour with the rest of our blending eye brushes. This brush is also perfect for applying highlight with precision across the brow bone and bridge of the nose."

Another beloved brush, really glad to have one more. More than glad actually XD I keep using the other with to apply colours on my brow bone, and I'm using this one as a blending brush or when I need to apply one eyeshadow all over my lid. Being so big makes the application really quick, but less precise - so I need to adjust it after.

Angled Blender ~
Angled Blender: "This is one of our best selling and most versatile brushes. The perfect size and shape to create a beautifully contoured eye, add shading to the outer corners, or highlight to the inner corners, or wash and use for both!"

This one is pretty interesting. Looks like the one in the Glam Clam, but it is different somehow. Same shape, but this one is fluffier, fuller, thicker. The other one is thinner, more precise, while this one is a perfect blending brush - so it's not a double, not 100%. Which is good for me! I don't use angled brushes a lot, so two identical ones would have been necessary to me.

Tall Tapered Blender ~
Tall Tapered Blender"Our most popular eye blending brush, this is the ultimate tool for creating all kinds of make-up looks, from soft and romantic to full blown sexy and smokey. Use to blend out colour or build up shade in the contours of the eye, this brush can do no wrong."

Same as above: in theory, it's the very same brush as the Glam Clam one, in practice it is not. This one is less dense, wider - and the fun thing is that... It is even BETTER than the other one *_____* This is blending brush heaven, trust me *^*

Angled Brow ~
Angled Brow"Small angled brow brush. This small, angled and firm brush allows for precise and even application of cream and powder products to the eyebrow, for filling, shaping and defining. This brush can also be used with gel or cream or powder products to line and define the upper and lower lash lines."

I confirm what I said in the past about the twin: it's probably meant to be an eyebrow brush, but in fact it's perfect as eyeliner brush. And eyeliner brushes are never enough, so welcome to the family, child u.u
Lip Liner ~
Lip Liner"The flat and firm synthetic bristles of the lip liner brush are perfect for defining and filling the lips. The tapered tip allows for precise application, blending and filling with cream and liquid based products."

XD

Lip brush, simple and basic, yet essential! I have only one except this (aka the twin brother) which I use not only as a lip brush but, most of the time, as a detailing brush. Now I'll elect one of them as "official lip brush of the kingdom" - while the other one will be use as a multitasking brush in my eye make up! XD
Fine Detailer ~
Fine Detailer: "This new brush is all about the detail, perfect for application of product for face, eyes or lips, this little multi-tasker works hard! Use for pin point concealer, fill brow gaps with precision, finish the finest details on an eye look, or get an ultra sharp edge to your lipstick, this is a must have brush for any perfectionist".

This one is really interesting: looks like it's a new entry into the Spectrum range, but it's not identical to the one sold individually. This brush features a lightly angled ferrule, unlike the other Fine Detailer - which I think it's the updated version of the old, simple eyeliner brush. The point look slightly longer than his Glam Clam little brother's one. So, no double brushes here. I used it a lot as an eyeliner brush and as a detailer brush - I like it really much, it's not the finer but still it's really precise.

Pinne incrociate!

Summarizing:  my first impressions about this set are really positive, the brushes look gorgeous and high quality just like the ones from the Glam Clam set. The only flaw is the price, a little too high; the brush are well-matched, love the assortment - yet, I'd still add a proper pencil brush and a smaller, thinner eyeshadow brush. I hope that, if they create a new set, they'll put together a different assortment with new brushes - so I could try and collect some new original brushes, hehe. Fins crossed!

Spero che il post vi sia piaciuto! Che ne pensate di questo set? Non è una meraviglia? :D
Hope you enjoyed this post! What do you think about this set? Isn't it neat? :p
