Il post di oggi è molto speciale: finalmente pubblico questo look per la rubrica The Mermaid Series - dedicata interamente ai look da sirena - che ho realizzato tipo cinque mesi fa e che tenevo in caldo per un'occasione particolare. Quale occasione migliore del terzo compleanno del mio blog? ♥

(A onor del vero questo post arriva un filo in ritardo, perché il compleanno del blog era la settimana scorsa *ehm*
Purtroppo, causa settimana infernale, di quelle in cui hai a malapena il tempo per respirare, riesco a pubblicarlo solo oggi - come dice il detto, meglio tardi che mai!)

Il look che vado a presentarvi oggi è dedicato ad un personaggio del telefilm Once Upon a Time... E chi poteva essere, se non la mia amata sirenetta? *_* La versione OUAT mi è piaciuta molto, sia per la scelta dell'attrice che per l'interpretazione della storia classica (ho apprezzato molto meno la coda in CGI, a voler proprio trovarci un difetto XD), perciò ho deciso di dedicarle un look... Eccolo qua, finalmente! ♥

Today's post is very special to me: finally I get the chance to post this look for the Mermaid Series - dedicated to all mermaid looks - which I made, like, five months ago and I was keeping aside for a special occasion. And the time as come, what's better than my blog's third birthday? ♥

(To be honest, I'm slightly late, because my blog's birthday was last week *whoops*
Unfortunately I had to postpone this post, I had no free time to write last week... But better late than never!) 

I'm going to show you a very special look I made for a very special character from Once Upon a Time... Who? But my favourite little mermaid, of course! *_* I liked quite a bit the OUAT version, both the actress and the way they modified the original story (one thing I didn't like was the CGI mermaid tail, though XD) so I decided to create a look for her... And here it is, finally! ♥

Il look in sé è molto semplice, ciò che lo caratterizza e rende particolare è l'eyeliner ombré - il tutto realizzato con soli ombretti Nabla. Dimostrazione pratica di quanto siano versatili: asciutti sono meravigliosi ombretti, bagnati si trasformano in eyeliner spettacolari. 

It's quite a simple look, with a aqua/teal ombré eyeliner that adds a special touch to it - and I made it with all Nabla Cosmetics eyeshadows. Proof that they are extremely versatile: they work perfectly when dry, as gorgeous eyeshadows, but also when used wet - they become amazing eyeliners. 

Primo step: primer occhi (Too Faced Shadow Insurance); secondo step: matita bianca su tutta la palpebra mobile.

Dopo questi due step preliminari ho cominciato ad applicare gli ombretti: Pegasus all'angolo interno, Lilac Wonder su tutta la palpebra mobile, seguito da Superposition e Moonrise all'angolo esterno e nella piega. Come colore di transizione ho usato Fossil, e sotto le sopracciglia ho applicato Antique White. 

First step: eye primer (Too Faced Shadow Insurance); second step: white eye pencil all over the lid. 

After these two steps I started applying the eyeshadows: Pegasus on my inner corners, Lilac Wonder all over the lid, followed by Superposition and Moonrise on the outer corners and crease. I used Fossil as transition colours and Antique White on my brow bones. 

Fatto questo mi sono occupata di creare la riga di eyeliner sfumata, bagnando in successione tre diversi ombretti (un verde chiarissimo, un verde acqua e un teal intenso). Non amo bagnare gli ombretti direttamente nella cialda, ho paura che possa danneggiare il prodotto, perciò ho un procedimento tutto mio: "gratto" delicatamente con un pennello la cialda in modo da far cadere il prodotto necessario su un piattino, e poi bagno la polvere con qualche goccia d'acqua. 

Ho applicato Zoe partendo dall'angolo interno fino a metà palpebra circa, da lì in poi ho proseguito con Atmosphere fino alla fine della palpebra mobile, ed ho completato la riga con Babylon. Con in vari pennelli da eyeliner usati ho lavorato i punti di congiunzione in modo da creare delle sfumature morbide e graduali.

Then I started working on the ombré line, using three different eyeshadows wet (a pale green, an aqua green and a teal). I don't like wetting the eyeshadow pan, I'm always afraid that that method could damage the product, so this is how I create the eyeliner out of an eyeshadow: I gently "scratch" the eyeshadow using a brush, I gather the falling powder on a plate, then I get it wet using a couple of drops of water.

So, I applied Zoe first, staring from the inner corner till halfway, then I continued by applying Atmosphere till the end of the lashline, finally I completed the line with Babylon, winging it out. I gently worked on the transitions using the same eyeliner brushes, to make the line a smooth and soft gradient.

Nella palpebra inferiore ho applicato, asciutti, Atmosphere e Babylon, seguendo la sfumatura dell'eyeliner ombré. Nella rima interna ho applicato, come sempre, la matita nera (anche se col senno di poi avrei messo una matita verde acqua o teal); ho definito le sopracciglia ed infine, come sempre, ho applicato ciglia finte e mascara.

Inutile dire quanto abbia amato questo look, ancora adesso a distanza di mesi mi vengono gli occhi a cuoricino a guardarlo ♥___♥ È da un po' che non uso la tecnica dell'eyeliner ombré, tra l'altro, devo decisamente riproporre questa tecnica: è bellissima e dà grandi soddisfazioni! 

I applied Atmosphere and Babylon also on my lower lids, following the gradient on the upper lashline. On the waterline I applied, as usual, a black eyepencil (even though, in retrospect, I think a teal or an aqua eyepencil would work too); I defined my eyebrows and, lastly, I applied falsies and mascara.

No need to tell how much I loved this makeup, even after months my eyes lights up when I look at it ♥___♥ It's been a while since I last used the ombré eyeliner, I need to try this technique again: it's beautiful and gives a lot of satisfaction!

Spero che il look vi sia piaciuto! Non mi resta che concludere il post facendo gli auguri al mio piccolo spazio, mi sembra incredibile che siano già passati tre anni! Sono orgogliosa della mia creaturina, mi dà tante soddisfazioni e mi ha permesso di crescere e conoscere tante belle persone (sapete chi siete ♥). Non vedo l'ora di scoprire cosa ci riserva il futuro!
