First post of 2017, yay! :D Happy (belated) New Year everyone!
Today I'm going to show you the look I wore on New Year's Eve! I was very inspired that day - it was one of those days when my inspiration is way too much, actually XD I felt the excitement for the new year approaching, so I wanted to create something meaningful to celebrate! But I had so many ideas, very different from each other - and I was so torn.
At first I thought about doing a mermaid look. Then I thought I could do something graphic. I also considered doing a classic, chic and princess-y look with Swarovski crystals. Again, I was SO torn.

Then, eureka! What about combining elements of each ideas into one look?
Needless to say, this is exactly what I did (and I'm glad I did so!). For the mermaid side, I chose a deep teal shade (with no scales effect, though); for the princess side I chose to use as many crystals I could; for the graphic side, I chose to go for graphic eyeliner. Easier said than done, yes... But at least I finally knew what I was going to do XD

I started off by applying eyeprimer (Too Faced Shadow Insurance Original), then I applied Under Pressure eyeshadow by NABLA Cosmetics all over the lid, crease and outer corner. I layered the shadow in order to create a deep, intense shade of teal, blending it outward creating a soft V shape. I applied the same shadow on the lower lid too.
I applied Chatter Mark eyeshadow on the crease, creating a metallic blending; on the inner corner I applied the Celestial eyeshadow in Selfish (just a light touch, since it's quite a strong shade).
I used Fossil as transition shade, Antique White on my brow bones and Nocturne for the lower lashline. Then I moved on to the fun details: liner and crystals!

No black eyeliner, for once! I wanted to use just the Dazzle Liner in Klimt - pure and perfect as it is. First of all I drew my usual winged line, easy peasy. Then I came back towards the crease and followed its shape, creating the graphic curve you can see in the pictures. This step is usually tricky for me, but Klimt has a tiny brush that is just perfect for this kind of lines - and also its formula helps a lot.
Once it dried I applied false lashes, mascara and black eyepencil on the waterline. The final step was placing the crystals - which I did randomly, mixing clear and teal ones, bigger, medium and smaller ones altogether. The pictures don't do justice to the crystals' sparkles and shimmers - it felt like wearing jewels!

And that's it! After all, it's not that hard to make - just a couple of shadows, an handful of crystals and a glitzy eyeliner is all you need for this makeup!
I am really really proud of this look, not only because it was exactly like I pictured it in my mind... But also because it fully represents me (a mermaid, a princess and a makeup addict/aspiring mua) and thus it was the perfect look for new year's eve - to both say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one! *___*
