♕ Nabla Cosmetics ~ Blossom Blush and Shade & Glow ♕ {Haul, Overview, Swatches}

Finalmente, dopo un silenzio stampa durato mesi che a me è parso quasi eterno, NABLA Cosmetics torna alla carica lanciando non una ma ben due nuovissime linee - un ottimo preludio in attesa della collezione estiva ispirata alle sirene (la quale attesa mi sta veramente uccidendo!).

Dopo il pensionamento della linea Liquid Tech Blush aka i blush liquidi, in molte ci eravamo chieste quando ed in che modo Nabla avrebbe colmato questa lacuna non indifferente all'interno della propria gamma (dato che, fatta eccezione per la suddetta linea, non c'erano altri blush di sorta). 

Ebbene, finalmente abbiamo la risposta: la nuovissima linea Blossom Blush va a sostituire quella appena citata - stavolta nelle vesti di blush in polvere compatta, come sempre disponibili sia in versione refill che in versione con packaging. 

Contemporaneamente, Nabla ha lanciato anche un'inedita linea di prodotti per contouring, la Shade & Glow - anch'essa composta da prodotti in polvere compatta, disponibili sia in versione refill che non. 

Io, lo confesso, non mi sono mai addentrata nel mondo di blush & company - il mio amore cosmetico sono gli ombretti, ormai lo sanno pure gli scogli - ed ultimamente mi sono resa conto di avere una gran bella lacuna da colmare D: Ergo, questo doppio lancio cade veramente a fagiolo: quale occasione migliore per iniziare a cimentarmi come si deve?

In questo post vi mostrerò ciò che ho acquistato, insieme a qualche swatch ed una mini panoramica di entrambe le linee!

It's been a while since Nabla's last new collection, it really felt like forever. But now Nabla Cosmetics strikes back with two new releases, while waiting for the new summer collection (mermaid inspired, the waiting is killing me!). 

Some months ago they discontinued their former liquid blush line (aka Liquid Tech Blush) and a lot of us wondered when they were going to introduce new blushes. 
Well the time has finally arrived: a couple of days ago the new Blossom Blush line debuted, featuring 6 pressed powder blushes (available both with a proper packaging or in a refill pan). 
But there's more: Nabla launched a new contouring & highlighting line too! Named Shade & Glow, featuring 3 bronzers and 3 highlighters (again, pressed powders available both with a proper pack or in a refill pan). 

Must say, I never explored the world of blushes, highlighters and contouring - mostly because eyeshadows are my main beauty passion, so I kind of focused only on them. And now I realize I have a BIG gap! D: So, I'll use this occasion to learn more and experiment!

Let's get started now! I'm going to show you what I purchased, some swatches and an overview of all the products.

Ecco ciò che ho acquistato! Tre blush, due illuminanti ed un bronzer - che, come potete vedere, alloggiano comodamente all'interno di una Liberty 12 (originariamente pensata per contenere dodici ombretti Nabla). 

(No, non ho preso una delle nuove Liberty nere e glossate. Non perché non la volessi, ma perché m ne sono proprio dimenticata. Disonore sulla mia mucca.)

In alto ho posizionato i tre blush, partendo da sinistra: Daisy, Beloved, Impulse. Nella fila in basso invece troviamo Angel, Baby Glow (i due highlighters) e Gotham (per il contouring). 

I got three blushes, two highlighters and one contour shade - and they fit nicely in a Liberty 12 - which was originally meant to contain twelve Nabla eyeshadow refills. (And nope, I didn't buy one of the new black & glossy palette. Not because I didn't want one, I simply forgot ç_ç Dishonor on my cow!)

On the top row I placed the blushes (from left to right): Daisy, Beloved, Impulse. On the bottom row we have: Angel, Baby Glow (the two highlighters) e Gotham (the sculpting shade).

Daisy: "Rosa baby freddo, matte"

Daisy: "Cotton pink, matte"

Tonalità adorabile, chiara ma non slavata, dal sottotono freddo; un rosa molto delicato, di quelli che danno un tocco salutare al look e con cui è difficile sbagliare.

A pale (not the palest ever, though), cool pink blush. Pure, innocent, healthy. One of those shades you can't go wrong with. 

Beloved: "Corallo rosato di media tonalità, matte"

Daisy: "Coral pink of a medium tonality, matte"

Generalmente evito le tonalità corallo, nonostante mi piacciano, perché mal si sposano col mio sottotono freddo. Ma non è il caso di questo blush, grazia alla sua componente rosata. L'ho trovato meno pigmentato rispetto agli altri, il che tuttavia non è un difetto in toto: si può costruire senza aver paura di esagerare. (Discuterò meglio della pigmentazione nella sezione swatches)

Coral shades usually don't look good with me, probably because of my cool undertone. But, since this is a coral pink it actually works wonderfully on my skin tone. It's the less pigmented, so you cannot go wrong in terms of application with this beauty. (I'm going to talk about their pigmentation in the swatches section below)

Impulse: "Rosso rosato in base blu, matte"

Questo è stato il primissimo blush che ho notato, ed è anche il mio preferito (finora). Può apparire forte, ma non lo è. Trovo azzeccatissima la descrizione dal sito: fa proprio effetto Biancaneve!

The very first shade I noticed and probably my favourite so far. Might seem strong, but it isn't. I agreed with the website description: this is a perfect Snow White blush! 

Angel: "Champagne chiaro con satinatura rosa e ramata. Pearly Sheen."

Angel: "Light champagne with a subtle copper and pink iridescence. Pearly Sheen"

Lui è la punta di diamante di questa nuova gamma, secondo me. Mi ha totalmente rubato il cuore, ed è uno di quei prodotti che bisogna vedere dal vivo per poter apprezzarne appieno la bellezza. Una volta applicato vengono fuori le iridescenze rosate, ed è qualcosa di s-p-e-t-t-a-c-o-l-a-r-e. Mi fa pensare alle conchiglie e alla madreperla. Siete alla ricerca di un highlighter da sirena? Questo è fa decisamente al caso vostro!

This highlighter stole my heart. Period. You must see it in real life, pictures just don't do justice to its beauty. When applied, its iridescence really pops out and it's g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s. Makes me think of seashells and mother-of-pearl. Looking for a mermaid highlighter? Go for it!

Baby Glow: "Beige-oro chiaro. Pearly Sheen."

Non era nella mia wishlist iniziale, lo confesso, ma appena l'ho visto da vicino mi ha colpita parecchio e non ho saputo resistergli. È un oro chiaro delicato, raffinato ed irresistibile.

This one wasn't on my wishlist but, as soon as I saw it live, I knew I had to get it. A delicate, irresistible gold shade, eye-catchy. 

Gotham: "Beige tortora chiaro, matte"

Gotham: "Light taupe, matte"

Dulcis in fundo, il prodotto per contouring. Non ero certa di acquistarlo all'inizio, temendo che non fosse adatto e che potesse non donarmi. Grazie alla mia amica Misato, che mi ha rassicurata riguardo la tonalità, ho deciso di buttarmi e di provarlo.

Aveva ragione: è chiaro, freddo, perfetto per le mozzarelline come me (e lei, che è perfino più pallida di me). Adesso non mi resta che imparare adeguatamente la tecnica del contouring - decisamente più facile a dirsi che a farsi XD

Last but not least, the contour shade. I wasn't certain whether to buy it or not at first - "will it suit me?" "what if it doesn't work on my skin tone?". I had so many doubts. But, thanks to my friend Misato, who reassured me, I decided to give it a try. 

She was right: it's so pale, cool, perfect for pale skin tone like mine (and hers, who's even paler than me). Now I only need to learn how to properly contour my face. Easier said than done for sure XD

E questo è tutto per quanto riguarda i miei acquisti, adesso vediamo velocemente le rimanenti referenze. 

That's it regarding the stuff I bought. Now let's have a quick look at the remaining shades. 

Regal Mauve: "Malva con leggera satinatura oro. Satin"

Regal Mauve: "Mauve with a subtle gold satin effect. Satin"

Ecco l'unico blush non opaco dell'attuale collezione. Nonostante io non ami il malva (che ha la brutta abitudine di virare al marroncino su di me) l'ho trovato un colore molto interessante. Soprattutto perché la satinatura c'è, si vede ma resta discreta. 

This is the only non-matte blush and, honestly, I think it's quite cool. I didn't buy it because mauve it's a tricky shade for me. It hardly suits me and most of the time tend to become brownish - so no thanks. But the product itself seems really nice, the satin effect is noticeable yet subtle. 

Nectarine: "Color pesca sorbetto. Matte"

Nectarine: "Peach sorbet. Matte"

Non sono una gran fan delle tonalità aranciate - non mi donano granché - ma devo ammettere che questo pesca è molto carino. Quasi mi dispiace non averlo preso. 

Orange shades usually don't look good on me so I preferred to skip this blush - even though its particular shade is lovely, must say. It's a gentle peach, matte, balanced. 

Hey Honey: "Pesca-biscotto. Matte"

Hey Honey: "Peachy brown. Matte"

Questo credo sia l'unico blush della linea che non mi piace granché, probabilmente perché coniuga le due tonalità che meno amo e che meno mi donano: pesca e marrone. Ergo, no grazie.

Probably the only one shade I don't really like. Peachy brown, that's it. It's basically combine two "no" shade for me, so...

Jasmine: "Champagne-oro lievemente ambrato di media tonalità. Pearly Sheen."

Jasmine: "Champagne-gold with a hint of amber of medium tonality. Pearly Sheen."

Questo è il terzo ed ultimo illuminante della linea e... So che è pensato per le pelli scure, ma questa tonalità di oro ambrato è veramente stupenda. Sento che finirò per acquistarlo prima o poi (sì, anche per il nome, lo confesso XD). 

I know I'll probably end up with buying Jasmine sooner or later. It's a gold/amber highlighter, made to suit darker skin tones (or tanned skins). Yet, I want it. So it's a see you soon, Jasmine :3

Saint-Tropez: "Marrone caldo di media tonalità. Matte."

Saint-Tropez: "Warm brown of a medium tonality. Matte."

Ecco il bronzer pensato per regalare l'effetto "pelle baciata dal sole". Peccato che io ami la mia pelle bianca tutto l'anno, anche in piena estate. Ho quindi scartato questa tonalità perché so che non la userei affatto.

This shade is perfect for a sun-kissed effect. Thing is, that's not my cup of tea. I enjoy being fair skinned even during summer; that's why this shade's not for me.

Cameo: "Marrone medio-scuro neutro. Matte."

Cameo: "Neutral medium-dark brown. Matte."

Altra tonalità per contouring, a cui ho preferito Gotham (più chiaro e freddo) in quanto credo che sia più adatto alle mie esigenze. (Teniamo anche presente che sono una novellina in materia di contouring, ergo ho scelto la tonalità più gestibile XD). 

Probably another contour-friendly shade, but I preferred Gotham over this one. I think this one could be too dark for me - especially since I'm a newbie to contouring.

Ecco i miei swatches. I primi due sono stati fatti al volo (letteralmente) presso la mia bioprofumeria di fiducia (Bio Make Up Shop Catania). Quel giorno il tempo era parecchio variabile, motivo per cui le due foto, nonostante siano state scattate a pochi minuti di distanza, presentano due luci diverse. Li avevo fatti per alcune amiche e ho deciso di tenerli ugualmente per il blog nonostante non siano il top (decisamente) perché comprendono tutti i prodotti in gamma.
La terza foto invece è stata scattata a casa mia, con la solita luce naturale. Tutto sommato non ci sono differenze stratosferiche, fatta eccezione per Impulse che nella prima foto non sembra nemmeno lui o_O Non so bene come mai, ricordo che in negozio sembrava parecchio simile a Daisy... Ma ho pure controllato il nome sulle cialde per sicurezza. Boh.

Proseguiamo adesso con pigmentazione, texture, etc.

Swatches time! I made the top two at the local beauty shop (Bio Make Up Shop Catania), with a slight warm natural light. The third one was made at home, with the usual natural lighting. I actually made the top ones for some friends of mine, and I decided to keep them since they showed all the products - not only the ones I ended up buying. 

Only Impulse looks different - I don't even know why. I remember that its tester looked sooo close to Daisy's one but the name on the pan stated it was Impulse. Weird. 

Anyway, let's talk about pigmentation, textures and so on.

Scrivenza: mi piace molto, perché è ben bilanciata. Né troppo né troppo poco. Non come certi prodotti che, sì, hanno una scrivenza eccezionale ma poi vanno usati con mille cautele. Ho un blush (Ariel di Mulac) che è pigmentatissimo ma poi va dosato con estrema attenzione, pena assomigliare ad Heidi oppure a sembrare ustionata dal sole. Ecco perché preferisco blush/bronzer meno scriventi: sono più facili da gestire, si può costruire il colore piano piano e si controlla meglio il prodotto, evitando di strafare. 

Tutti scriventi al punto giusto - tranne Beloved che mi pare un po' meno scrivente, a swatcharlo sul braccio. Tuttavia una volta applicato sul viso dà il meglio di sé - ricordiamoci sempre che, nel caso di questi prodotti, gli swatches sul braccio sono relativi, perché bisogna valutare come si comporta il prodotto sul viso (con un'applicazione ovviamente diversa dalla ditata dello swatch). 

Texture: una parola - seta. Sono a dir poco setosi - sia nella cialda che una volta applicati. Si sfumano con una facilità imbarazzante, l'ideale per una novellina come me! Sono appena polverosi - ma ehi, son pur sempre polveri! 

Formulazione: senza siliconi, mineral oil, parabeni, pegs, ftalati, edta. Dermatologicamente testati e formulati per ridurre al minimo il rischio di allergie.

Altro: le cialde presentano una deliziosa stampa tipo crochet. Delicatamente profumati alla vaniglia e lime - meraviglia! *_* Il pao è di 12 mesi. 

Pigmentation: I really like it! They're pigmented but not too much. Not that kind of products that, yes, have a huge colour pay off but then are difficult to deal with. I have a blush named Ariel (by Mulac) which is more pigmented and must be used carefully. And I mean carefully - high risk to look sun burnt. That's why I personally prefer less pigmented blushes/bronzers: they're easy to work with, you can add the colour as you go, and don't risk to overdo. 

Mind you, this doesn't mean Nabla's blushes/bronzers are poorly pigmented. At all. They have the right point of pigmentation in my opinion - the only one that has a different pay off is Beloved, which is definitely less pigmented. But you barely notice when you use it on your face. Try to remember this while swatching blushes/highlighters/bronzers on your arm: you need to see them at work on your face, the colour payoff on your arm is just partial. 

Texture: in one word - pure silk. They're so smooth - both on pan and on skin. They're also so easy to blend - I mean, really effortless. Even for a newbie like me! Slightly dusty - but hey, it's still powder! 

Formula: both lines are free from silicone, mineral oil, parabens, pegs, phtalates, edta. Also they're dermatologically tested and formulated to minimize allergy risks. 

Other: the pan features a crochet like design. All the products are delicately scented with Vanilla and Lime - they smell so good *_* PAO: 12 months.

Infine, menzione d'onore al packaging! Vediamo innanzitutto l'innovativa confezione dei refill.

Lastly, just a quick note about the packaging. Let's start with the new refill packs.

Ogni cialda è come sempre confezionata nella solita scatolina piatta di cartone ma Nabla ha introdotto un packaging aggiuntivo per preservare l'igiene dei refill. Come potete vedere dalla foto, adesso le cialde sono sigillate in una sottile confezione di plastica. Per tirarle fuori dovrete rimuovere la sottile plastica posteriore che è letteralmente saldata, proteggendo perfettamente i refill. Ben fatto Nabla, molto ingegnoso. 

The come in the usual cardboard container, but now they are also sealed in a plastic protective pack. And yes, they're really sealed in it - you have to peel of the plastic in the back to get the pan out. A lot more hygienic now, since the sealed plastic totally preserves the refill inside. Well done Nabla.

La trousse dei blush/bronzer/illuminanti è davvero la ciliegina sulla torta. Punto primo: è stupendissima, elegante e rifinita nei dettagli. Inoltre: ha la chiusura magnetica (niente più unghie incastrate nella chiusura!), comprende uno specchietto (sempre utile, diciamocelo) e... presenta un innovativo sistema ricaricabile a calamita che consente di estrarre e cambiare le cialde nell'arco di pochi secondi. A dir poco geniale, chapeau! 

Il packaging si differenzia nel colore - bronzo per la linea Shade&Glow, oro rosa per la Blossom Blush. Mi rammarico di non aver preso anche un blush col pack!

The blushes/bronzers/highlighters packaging is the cherry on top, seriously. First of all: it beyond beautiful and elegant. So refined, really precious. Features: magnetic closure (no more fingernails stuck!), mirror included (always useful, let's face it) aaaaand... an innovative magnetic refill system that allows to switch the pan in seconds. Absolutely brilliant, chapeau!

The packing colour is slightly different for blushes - it's more like a rose gold than bronze. Quite regretting not buying one blush with the packaging!

Questo è tutto per adesso! Scriverò un post di prime impressioni più approfondite tra qualche settimana, per adesso ci tenevo a farvi una panoramica il più dettagliata possibile.
